Minarc

Minarc is an award-winning architecture and sustainable design studio founded in 1999 in Santa Monica, California by Icelandic architects Erla Dögg Ingjaldsdóttir and Tryggvi Thorsteinsson. The firm is known for its proprietary mnmMOD prefabricated panel system—recycled-steel-framed sandwich panels containing high-performance insulation, clad with gypsum board and a waterproof membrane. Manufactured with 30 percent recycled content and Cradle to Cradle Certified, these panels are fire-resistant, termite-proof, and achieve energy efficiency levels 40 percent above traditionally built structures. The flat-packed panels can be assembled on-site by two workers using only a screw gun in as little as eight hours, generating almost zero construction waste. Minarc's Plús Hús ADU model, starting at $37,000, has been featured in Dwell and recognized for pioneering non-combustible, passive-design residential architecture across California.
